Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Conduct instructional analysis to clearly identify business goals, target audience(s), performance gaps, and logistical issues.
- Design learning and performance support solutions based on the needs and objectives identified. Solutions may include asynchronous self-paced courseware, simulations, blended learning (online combined with traditional training methods), performance support systems, synchronous online classes, and collaborative learning experiences.
- Write eLearning design documents and other instructional materials, including scripts, job aids, screen text, quizzes, certification tests, and other documents.
- Specify tracking and certification requirements
- Specify needed media assets (graphics, audio, video) and interactions
- Develop basic e-Learning courseware using simple development tools such as Adobe Captivate
- Partner with e-Learning developers as needed in the creation of advanced courseware
- Collect formative evaluations to improve course quality and other course metrics as needed
- Deliver live instruction as needed both in-person and online via online classroom tools such as WebEx
- Coordinate with other departments and corporate/field personnel to complete projects and materials on time and on budget
- Develop training rollout and organizational change management strategies to support successful training implementations
- Maintain a high level of instructional design knowledge and monitor ongoing improvements in the use of technology to support learning
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Adult Education or related field required
- Advanced degree in Business or Instructional Design preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of training and instructional design experience
- e-Learning work samples will be required to show instructional design and development capabilities
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstration of solid foundation in adult learning and instructional design
- Familiarity with e-Learning, online collaboration, and web-based technologies, their capabilities, and best instructional uses
- Advanced instructional writing skills in multiple mediums
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including interpersonal skills and ability to work with professionals from a variety of departments
- Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects at one time
- Ability to self-direct and manage time
- Ability to work as a team and with challenging deadlines
- Acceptance of feedback and constructive evaluation of work
- Interest in continuous improvement and dedication to updating skills
