How to Inspire
with Michael Grinder

Intended Audience
Anyone who mentors, manages, trains, or presents to people.

Overview
"Human Resources" are tasked with assessing who to hire, match an employee's skill set with an appropriate placement, and consult internally. Frankly, historically HR has been the step-sister to other departments. HR has to communicate with other divisions so that HR is respected and valued. They need to understand the differences between informing, persuading and inspiring.

The average communicator informs.
The good communicator persuades.
The great communicator inspires.

Some people can walk into a room and be inspiring and charismatic - think of "Bond, James Bond." The rest of us have to learn and practice the skills of how to be charismatic and inspire. HR has been over trained in eye-contact and tend to operate from an approachable posture. Since 80% of communication is non-verbal, this program will emphasize when to make eye contact - when not to, when to use a credible voice instead of the default approachable voice, and how to stand to convey our message.

Michael Grinder is a renowned expert in the power of influence. Michael has developed a unique, new system of influence through non-verbal communication, one that is rich in practical, immediately applicable skills.

Michael has spent his life studying, dissecting and teaching the structure that underlies universal patterns that underlie all communication. After years of experience as a middle-school teacher, Michael now speaks to conferences and conducts training seminars across the globe on the science of non-verbal communication, non-verbal leadership skills, group dynamics, and presentation skills.

Michael has devoted 40 years to the study of non-verbal communication. His observational research on four continents has convinced him that people are in love with the influence of power when they need to be in love with the power of influence. Power does get results, but compliance is short-term. Influence leads to long-term results, especially when the influence is earned through systematic, artistic non-verbal communication.

Michael is widely-regarded as one of America's foremost educator of educators and an expert on learning styles. He was personally trained by two giants in the field of communication: Carl Rogers, the wellspring of rapport and relationships, and John Grinder, co-founder of Neuro Linguistic Programming. Michael and his wife, Gail, live on a tree farm in Washington state.
