A Message from the VP of Interest Groups

Geographic Interest Groups (GIGs)

Cascadia Chapter covers the state of Oregon and SW Washington - that is a lot of area! To help support workplace learning professionals outside of the Portland metro area, our chapter has established Geographic Interest Groups (GIG) in three locations. GIGs provide a mix of networking and professional development activities. The meetings are open to the public and a great way to meet others in your community who are active in training and development. The date and time and place of each GIG is listed on the chapter website along with topic for the current month. Members attend GIGs for free as part of the membership benefit. Guests pay $5 per meeting, a very good bargain especially in light of some of the great programs and networking provided by our GIG leaders.

Our chapter is fortunate to have four very dedicated members who have stepped forward to provide leadership for our three Geographic Interest Groups. They support the chapter and membership by serving as the lead in their local area to organize GIG meetings and development opportunities. And they provide this service on a volunteer basis - please join me in sending a heart-felt thank you to the following leaders:
