A Message from the VP of Member Services
Greetings!
Spring is in the air! This morning, while driving into to work I enjoyed the cherry blossom trees and relished the sun, although still elusive, kissing my cheeks just so through my car window. Being the sunshine gal that I am, hailing from sunny southern California, I love spring! And I’m even more excited about what we have in store for you in Member Services which is comprised of membership and volunteer management this year!
Membership
Our membership team is amazing! We were able to design and deploy a membership survey which now drives chapter planning. I love that our chapter is nimble enough to incorporate feedback set by the very members we serve! Last month’s 1st ever membership meeting in nearly four years was a huge success. To see the Membership Meeting survey results, click here. Based on your feedback, we’ll make the Membership meeting an annual event, at minimum. Going forward, we’ll be planning a Membership Meeting in the Salem area, given recent feedback to diversify our program locations.
Volunteers
I’m equally excited about our Volunteer team! As an ASTD-Cascadia volunteer, you’ll gain new skills, build relationships and enjoy opportunities to network and most importantly, you’ll have the opportunity to give back to your profession. In our January Membership survey, volunteers indicated that above all else, they want to be recognized with a party! And a party they’ll get. While serving is important, saying “thank you” and “your service is appreciated” is equally as important. This team is also focused behind the scenes, to streamline our internal volunteer management processes.
Overall, Member Services is committed to you—our membership! We are excited to be your advocate, always with an eye focused on the value-add for members.
To our dedicated volunteers, know that you are appreciated and we’re working on ways to better align volunteer opportunities with your personal goals. Again, thank you for your service and commitment to making our chapter become the premier resource for workplace learning professional.
I look forward to meeting you at an upcoming ASTD-Cascadia event and welcome any feedback you may have on how we can serve you better! Until then, enjoy the flowers and fresh air for Spring is here!
In Service,
Michele Jordan
