    Visual Thinking in E-Learning

    By Christine Martell | December 14, 2007

How blog conversations create learning opportunities

Tony Karrer wrote a post VizThink and Visual Thinking and Learning: Still not sure last week. It’s in reference to a conversation he was having with Tom Crawford, the CEO of VizThink about whether it would be valuable for e-learning professionals to attend the conference he is organizing in January.

Several of us who are facilitating at the conference responded, and a very interesting conversation developed. It’s worth going over to the post to read the comment conversation. As a result, a couple of us had more to say than was appropriate for a comment, so other posts were written to offer more resources.

Dave Gray has been a leader in this field for many years, and his company Xplane has opened an office here in Portland. Dave joined in the conversation with Tony, and since he is a featured facilitator at the VizThink conference, Tom Crawford arranged for Dave and Tony to have an expanded discussion in a free webinar.

How is visual thinking different from design?
How can visual thinking impact the outcome of an e-learning module?
How does visual thinking impact the e-learning design process?
Do e-learning teams need a specialized role for visual thinking or can anyone do it?
    What if you can’t draw?
Is drawing essential to visual thinking?
    Can visual thinking be learned?
    How do I get started?

These questions and many of yours will be covered in this exciting and energizing session. If you would like submit additional questions, please add them as comments below. There will also be chat during the session to capture your questions live. If you can’t attend, don’t worry. The session will be recorded and available on our wiki shortly after the session.
